Log rafting is a method of transporting felled trees by tying them together to make a raft which is then towed across water from place to place. The log leachate are chemical compounds and are capable of increasing the biological oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand and decrease the dissolved oxygen in a water body. This is a common practice in this part of Lagos. It is a means of water pollution as there will be displacement of logs or bark which later accumulate at the benthic zone of the water decreasing the population of the fauna organisms, discolour the water and makes the water unfit.
